Pamela,
I’m coming up on my first year anniversary of my BOY policy and am pleased with how things are going so far. I noticed a cautionary note: “excess loans can terminate a policy” in the video. Could you explain what that means – exactly?
Thanks,
Joe
Hi Joe,
A good question. As long as you continue to pay the premium and any loan interest due, the policy will not lapse.
At some point, some policy owners take their policy “reduced paid up” which means no more premiums are due. In that case, all it takes to keep the policy in force is to pay the loan interest.
Your policy dividends can also be used to pay loan interest.
If you’re ever in doubt, just contact your Bank On Yourself Authorized Advisor.
And congrats for starting to Bank On Yourself!
